Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement presented during booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle pickup. This document outlines important terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Morley, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions can differ based on vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. You need a valid driving license suitable for the vehicle class, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of current address are required, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments Guide
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Dartford location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required to identify any pre-existing damage, which must be reported immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged appropriately. Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as received; refueling fees will apply if the tank is not adequately filled. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please notify us if you anticipate any delays. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during the rental period, along with a processing fee.
Insurance and Liability Overview
- All rentals from Morley include basic third-party insurance. Comprehensive coverage information and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You are liable for damages or losses up to the insurance excess, unless further coverage is obtained. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on your booking type and how much notice you provide. Please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise information. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur fees that apply to your reservation.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, off-roading, or any activities that pose risks. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Vehicles should only be used as intended, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Driving beyond agreed geographical boundaries without prior permission is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Morley Car Hire is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim is limited to the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or for fraudulent activities.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
